Frequently Asked Questions

1.   Is YouveGotClaims® a collection software package?
No. YouveGotClaims® is a web based service, delivering data between debt providers and debt servicers.  Like a post office, we receive and deliver mail, which in our case is debt collection data.  In addition to mail delivery, we also provide comprehensive web reporting on all data delivered through the use of our management reports.
2.   Do you send files or accounts via email?
No.  YouveGotClaims® data is not processed via e-mail.  Data is transferred via our secure FTP server.  The data is encrypted in both directions, ensuring security.
3.   What type of security is in place so that outside intruders do not have access to my information?
All YGC servers are protected by multiple levels of security which include physical and network access.  Protections include secure server room access, hardware (intrusion detection) and software (firewalls, anti-virus software) to protect our servers.
4.   What is the external format of the YGC DataStandard®? Is it readable?
The YGC DataStandard® is a multi-record, fixed field format.  The data that is transferred between senders of accounts and servicers of accounts is in an ASCII format.   Although the raw data format can be viewed in a text editor (such as Notepad), it is not designed to be "read by the human eye" in its raw format.  This means that the data file cannot be retrieved in a spreadsheet and have all 'columns line up properly'.  The data is designed to be processed and translated into/from your internal collection system.
5.   What type of interface is used for the YGC DataLink®?
All interaction with the YGC DataLink® is done through your web browser.  However, a formal interface is not necessary in order to use YGC.
6.   How do we know what files came through the service and were updated daily?
Upon processing data, YGC sends out its signature e-mail notification with a subject of "You've Got Claims" or "You've Sent Claims".  The e-mail contains details about the processed data (number of new accounts, number of updates etc).  We also provide a comprehensive web interface to your mailbox where you can pick up or send data.
7.   What collection software systems are compatible with the YGC DataStandard®?
A number of collection software vendors have written interfaces to the YGC DataStandard®.  Among them are:
  • Commercial Legal Software (Collection-Master)
  • JS Technologies (CollectMax)
  • Collect 1
  • Hubbard Systems (P2P)
  • Ontario (Artiva, FACS)
  • Tucans
  • CUBS
  • Latitude
  • QLaw
  • RMS (Fair Isaac)
  • PIMS
  • Totality
  • CaseTracker 123
Other vendors are currently writing interfaces.   Check with your vendor for compatibility.  An interface is not necessary to begin your use of YGC.
8.   Do we have to have a collection software system to use YGC?
No, a collection software system is not needed.
9.   Is there a fee to use YGC?
There is a small monthly fee for all service providers using YouveGotClaims® which covers licensing, unlimited phone support and product enhancements.   Additionally, a one-time per account fee (variable based on volume) is charged to senders of new accounts when they are processed through our system.  Per-account charges, monthly charges and other pricing alternatives can be discussed with our Sales Department, (888) 321-3415.
10.   How many law firms are ready to use YGC?
We currently have over 430 law firms throughout the United States who service debt through YGC.  Since the YGC DataStandard® is available in most collection software packages, hundreds more already own compatible programs.
11.   How often do attorneys update their system?
The YGC Mailman® is open 24/7, meaning data can be accepted at anytime.  Typically, the debt provider (client) dictates the frequency they expect to receive status updates, financial information, etc.  YGC does not have mandatory upload/download requirements.  Because the client is in control, they dictate the amount of times per week or day the attorneys send updates to the YGC Mailman® for delivery back to them.  The YGC Mailman® delivers mail every two hours from 10:15 A.M.  through 10:15 P.M., and an additional delivery time at 6:15 A.M.  EST.   The YGC DataLink® is updated nightly.
12.   How do we know if we have updates or new accounts?
Every time you send data or have data to receive, you will be notified via email.
13.   As a client, how do we know what attorneys can receive accounts in the YGC format?
Upon signing our Data Services Agreement and receiving a YGC user ID and password, you can view a list of collection firms that have a YGC mailbox in our Documentation Library.
14.   Is technical support available?
Our Client Services Department is available to provide technical assistance to our customers during regular business hours at no charge, Monday - Friday 8:30 A.M.  to 8:30 P.M.  Eastern time.
15.   When does YGC process data?
YGC processes data seven times daily every two hours from 10:15 A.M to 10:15 P.M.  Eastern time.  Our processing takes place every day, regardless of weekend or holiday.
When we process mail, we send our signature "You've Got Claims" email.  You will receive this notification when data has been delivered to your private, secure mailbox.  Also, we send our "You've Sent Claims" e-mail when we have processed data FROM your office.  These e-mails are your indicator to go to your mailbox to pick up your work or to confirm that we have processed your data.
